Statement of Position on
the LGBTQ+ Community

I want to express my unwavering support for the LGBTQ community and affirm my commitment to advocating for your rights, equity, and well-being.

 

In an era when progress and inclusivity are crucial, it is essential that we stand together as a united front against discrimination and prejudice. I recognize the unique challenges that members of the LGBTQ community face—challenges that no individual should ever have to endure. That is why our campaign movement is rooted in principles of equity, justice, and acceptance for all.

 

I firmly believe in the fundamental human rights of every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. I pledge to fiercely advocate for LGBTQ rights and ensure that your voices are heard and represented at every level of government. I acknowledge the importance of defending LGBTQ rights, both legislatively and socially, so that every member of our community can live authentically and without fear.

 

My commitment to the LGBTQ community extends beyond words. It is at the heart of our policy agenda. I support comprehensive nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ individuals, including employment, housing, healthcare, education, and public accommodations. I believe in supporting LGBTQ youth, addressing LGBTQ-specific issues such as homelessness and mental health, and fostering safe and inclusive environments for all in our schools and communities.

 

Furthermore, I stand for marriage equity and recognize the importance of equal access to legal protections and benefits for same-sex couples. I believe that transgender individuals should have the right to self-identify and receive appropriate healthcare, including gender-affirming treatments and surgeries. I also support ending the harmful practice of conversion therapy, which has no scientific basis and causes significant harm to those subjected to it.

 

Through our campaign movement, I aim to foster a society where love, acceptance, and celebration of diversity are the norms rather than the exceptions. I will work tirelessly to ensure that Nevada remains at the forefront of progress, actively moving toward a future where everyone is valued and respected for who they are.
